Answers when you are away from home or the office, on the telephone, using the Internet, or just too busy to pick up.

To Set Up Your Mailbox:
  1. Dial your Voice Mail access number (listed below).
  2. Follow the voice instructions until all steps are completed.
  3. The default security code is "9999". Decide what numbers you will use when asked to change your personal Security Code. Security Code can be from 4 to 7 numbers.
To Hear New Messages from your telephone:
  1. A stuttered dial tone indicates you have a new Voice Mail message.
  2. Dial your Voice Mail access number and follow the voice instructions..
To Hear New Messages from another location:
  1. Dial your telephone number.
  2. Let it ring until you hear your voice greeting.
  3. Press # during your greeting and then follow the voice instructions.
To Hear New Messages from another location with FairPoint's Voice Mail:
  1. Dial the access number.
  2. When asked for the security code, press #*.
  3. Follow the voice instructions.
FairPoint mailboxes are 10 digits. Your mailbox number is your area code plus telephone number.
